As someone who has visited Hawaii multiple times, I’ve had the chance to experience various hotels in the Waikiki area. It's important to keep in mind that Waikiki is a vibrant city bustling with tourists, which naturally comes with some noise from police and ambulance sirens. While I understand that some guests may find this bothersome, I don’t think it’s a fair reason to rate a hotel poorly. I encourage potential visitors to consider this context when deciding on their stay. Regarding the amenities, the establishment offers a washer and dryer at a rate of $2.50 per load, with cash needed for payment, though they provide coin change for convenience. The valet parking service is priced at 40USD plus taxes per night, which I found quite advantageous considering the high costs of self-parking options in Waikiki. Additionally, guests can borrow beach towels and benefit from various discounts in collaboration with a local museum and a yoga class. Complimentary purified water is available, so it’s a good idea to bring along your Hydroflask. Coffee, tea, and hurricane popcorn are also provided for guests to enjoy. Regarding the room: Waikiki is known for its compact size, and many hotel accommodations reflect that. However, I found that COCONUT effectively utilizes the space in their rooms. They provide a microwave, a small fridge, cups, and even a couple of dishes for convenience. Additionally, guests can benefit from an iron and ironing board, extra pillows, and a modest amenity kit in the bathroom, which includes shampoo and conditioner. I had a minor concern regarding the bathroom floor, which felt quite slippery. To enhance safety, I placed a towel down for convenience. I apologize for not mentioning this to the reception during my stay. The views from my room were quite lovely, as I was able to enjoy the canal and the mountains.

When you consider Hawaii, you think natural paradise. This hotel is in the heart of Waikiki and the beaches you're near aren't the best because they're crowded from other hotels, there's rocks in the sand as you wade into the ocean, and you're surrounded by buildings. That said, if you use this hotel as a base to get out of the city, it's perfect. They offer all kinds of beach supplies like towels, chairs, snorkeling gear, and boogie boards as part of your resort fee. They also give you a free ticket to the Bishop Museum, a very generous gift, and the museum is amazing. Highly recommend. The Coconut staff are friendly, efficient, and make your stay pleasant. I didn't have any questions they couldn't answer, and it felt nice to see familiar faces often. Parking is high, and there's really no parking outside of the hotel, so factor that in if you're thinking of renting a car. It's similar to other properties, though, so you're stuck with this extra fee regardless. My room was very quiet and the elevator worked really well. There was a stain on the carpet, but it was a large comfortable room, and I enjoyed staying there. You might need to tell housekeeping to clean out certain things, but overall, they do a good job. I really appreciated having a fridge and microwave because food is extremely expensive to dine out. I brought granola and bought milk, which saved me when I didn't feel like spending a ton on breakfast or going out right away as there is no restaurant in the hotel. Lastly, they have a water station where you can refill your water bottle, and I really liked that perk. It tasted really good, was cool and refreshing after a day out in the sun. This is a very pleasant budget hotel and apparently has been around since the 70's as my friend also stayed her with her children when she traveled here before.

We loved our stay at Coconut Waikiki! The location was perfect. You could walk everywhere! We had a nice view of the Ala wai canal and beautiful mountains. Definitely suggest getting the balcony, it was so peaceful to sit outside in the morning and at night with the breeze. Staff was wonderful, asked for extra towels a couple of times and they were brought up right away. You can borrow beach towels and umbrellas as well. Didn’t get a chance to use the pool, it was on the smaller side but was heated! The room was very comfortable and clean. Even though we were facing a quite busy road, we could not hear any traffic noise. Mini fridge and microwave were included which we did appreciate. They have a filtered water dispenser in the lobby that we used all the time, the water was so refreshing and cold. Valet parking was great! They were always very fast to pull the car up. It was $40/night which is a lot, but still on the cheaper side compared to other properties I looked into. The taxes and fees for hotels in Hawaii can be outrageous - hence why I picked a place with a cheaper price per night, our stay here was $705 total for four nights including everything besides valet parking which was $160. think that was a very fair price for the amazing stay we had. We will definitely be back and recommend to others. I read through SO many reviews of all different hotels in Waikiki, and the reviews for this one were amazing. So glad I listened to everyone because we love love loved our stay!!

For a boutique hotel, it's not a bad place to stay at all. It's within walking distance of all the major malls, restaurants, and beaches downtown without the overwhelming noise and the hustle and bustle on Kalakaua and Kuhio avenues. The rooms were updated and super clean, and housekeeping was militant about servicing the room. The beds and pillows were clean and comfortable. Kudos to our Valet Robert, after the first day we checked in, he automatically knew who we were and brought our car over quickly, he always smiled and was super enthusiastic to lend a helping hand and/or provide directions or information. The view from our balcony of the Ala Wai Canal and Waimanalo Ridge was a perfect way to wake up. The coffee bar in the lobby was great, nothing fancy, just good. The fridge and microwave really helped especially when we would bring some leftovers from our lunch or dinner we could easily store them and reheat them as needed. The brand-new AC units were awesome, super quiet, and efficient, unlike the clunky/noisy AC units you find at some hotels.

Excellent location in central Waikiki, easy walking access to shopping, restaurants, and the beach. Front-desk staff and valet attendants were friendly and very helpful. The hotel was clean and well-maintained in general. The room included all basic amenities. There was a convenient water refill station on the ground floor as well as a coffee/tea station and free popcorn in the afternoon.
